As we roll into early fall the temps the mercury is beginning to creep down making for some really enjoyable days on the water. The creeks remain full of shrimp and fat finger mullet with some haden mixed in. Fishing live bait over structure with either a float rig or Carolina rig right now is most productive as the reds, trout and flounder are aggressively feeding on live bait. The Sheapshead bite is also good around rocks and other structure in the harbor and at the jetties. Tarpon are active in the inlets and behind the sand bars as well as right along the beach as the fall mullet run in the surf is beginning.
Those that have made it offshore report the Wahoo bite remains good and dropping over structure is producing reports on the typical bottom suspects.
